Crowdo announced two more successful Equity Crowdfunding offers which had successfully surpassed their fundraising targets: MNP Auctioneers and Goody Technologies. This adds to a successful track record of ECF offers published on the Crowdo ECF website including The Parenthood which raised a record-setting 2.64mn RM and The Nuren Group which was the first Venture Capital Fund led ECF offer.
“The ECF market has successfully gone through its proof of concept stage and now ready to scale,” Crowdo Co-Founder and CEO Leo Shimada. “With the back to back ECF successes of MNP Auctioneers and Goody Technologies, Crowdo has demonstrated its ability to source for high-quality start-ups and continuously facilitate successful ECF offers thru its platform and community.”
MNP Auctioneers is Malaysia’s pioneer E-LIVE auction solution provider which is endorsed by Bank Negara Malaysia, claiming to provide a complete one-stop shop solution for all auction-related services from pre-sales to marketing, establishing true market value and achieving the highest possible returns for every item consigned to them for sale by way of auction. MNP raised 354,000 RM through its ECF offer or 118% of its base target.
Founded in June 2015 with a mission that “young people can earn in any place through writing,” Goody is a platform that covers an online editor platform, media publishing, and e-advertisements. Its aim is to create a platform that lets young people serve good content to young readers. In two years since launching, Goody claims 15 million page views per month, becoming the No. 1 Chinese media portal in Malaysia. During the campaign, Goody raised nearly 300,000 RM through its ECF offer or roughly 200% of its target. Based on Crowdo’s observation of reactions from its investor community, it would have easily reached more than 500% of its target if it were not for the target ceiling amount. With still a few days remaining on the campaign, Goody reportedly is still in talks with strategic investors which may help its business growth.
Current live Crowdo campaigns include Shogun2u, an award winning brand Saisaki and Shogun founded in 1999 which offers food and grocery delivery to more than 50,000 members in the Klang Valley, and Bake2Play, a “one-stop solution centre for our everyday hunger games.”
Crowdo, a regional fintech startup offering a full portfolio of financing solutions including Equity Crowdfunding and Peer to Business Lending, counts 34,000 members globally with operations in Malaysia, Singapore and Indonesia and is now registered with the Securities Commission of Malaysia, Financial Services Authority of Indonesia, and Monetary Authority of Singapore.
