With less than two weeks until its Crowdcube campaign comes to an end, Techstars alum and social planning app, PlanSnap, has successfully secured its initial £250,000 investment target from more than 400 investors. As previously reported, PlanSnap describes itself as a frictionless social planning app that gets everyone to agree on the details of plans in just a few taps. The company stated:
“We’ve all experienced the frustration of getting friends together: we found that it can take over 9 apps, 22 app switches, 77 swipes, 13 minutes on the phone and 10 texts to make a plan. We know that 40% of the time planning fails completely. PlanSnap is based on the insight that every organised person knows… To make plans happen you must quickly get everyone to agree on the details – who, what, where and when.”
PlanSnap launched its crowdfunding round around the same time as drfocused, another Techstars alum, debuted its equity campaign on Crowdcube as well. Crowdcube shared:
“We are excited to announce that two alumni of the world famous Techstars accelerator program have launched campaigns on Crowdcube – drfocused and PlanSnap! Techstars is widely known as one of the best startup accelerators in the world and with an acceptance rate of 1-2%, it is often cited as being harder to get into than Harvard. The programs are run all over the world, from their US roots in Colorado to cities like Cape Town and Tel Aviv, Techstars has a truly global presence. Their alumni portfolio includes more than 1,000 companies that have a combined market cap of an incredible $8.1 billion worldwide such as DigitalOcean, Timehop, PillPack, Class Pass, Osper and SendGrid, which is set to be their first IPO.”
Funds from the campaign will be used for hiring a data scientist and a designer to make PlanSnap smarter and faster, and for marketing and business development.
