Your Sommelier, a London-based online wine merchant, has launched an equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs. The company is seeking £110,000 as it prepares to grow and expand its monthly subscription boxes of French wines. The company stated it started trading three years ago a concept of offering its members one producer every week. Membership is notably 100% free and gives access to the weekly offers:
“Our story is quite simple, we are two UK-based young French wine enthusiasts and after several years in the banking industry we have decided that it was time to share our passion for wine. We wanted our concept to be simple and accessible to everyone, not only to wine experts, and sell only what we would buy for ourselves. This is how we came up with Your Sommelier and our unique concept of private offers.”
Recently, Your Sommelier launched its subscription box of 3 bottles per month. This box includes detailed tasting notes, information on the wine region, and winemaking techniques. Subscribers now have the ability to re-order the owners they like at a palatable 20% discount.
“The idea is simple: educate people about French wine in an affordable way, and give the possibility to taste different wines before ordering a case.”
All investors of the Seedrs round will receive a 10% discount on all purchase on the website for one year. Other investment perks include:
- £2,000 – £4,999: Amateur Gift Box 1 month
- £5,000 – £7,999: Amateur Gift Box 3 months
- £8,000o and more: Amateur Gift Box 6 months
Since its launch, Your Sommelier has raised nearly £75,000 from 40 investors. It is set to close later this summer.
