Earlier this week, Invesdor alum Fitness Village announced the launch of its new app and the opening of its gamified gym. The launch of the game and the opening of the gym following a successful €187,000 funding on the equity crowdfunding platform this past May. Invesdor stated:
“Gaming and physical exercise are often seen as polar opposites. The Fitness Village concept combats this point of view and encourages people to move by combining four key elements: the Fitness Village mobile game, activity tracking sensors, the Fitness Village Training Center gym in Helsinki’s Kaisaniemi, and supporting services.”
The Fitness Village Training Center is described as a modern and versatile fitness center. It provides customers with highly advanced and comprehensive training service and solutions for developing and gaining a healthy lifestyle. The center is also equipped with the latest fitness and training equipment with abilities to connect to Fitness Village The Game.
“By training with the Fitness Village The Game compatible Life Fitness equipment user will be rewarded with activity points to the Fitness Village game. Activity points can be used for in-game purchases, real life offers to the Training Center or to services and products of Fitness Village partner companies.”
The Fitness Village game is currently available on Google Play and the Fitness Village Training Center gym is at the University of Helsinki metro station in Kaisaniemenkatu 7, Helsinki, Finland.
