On Wednesday, crowdfunding platform GoFundMe revealed that more than 850 campaigns on its website have raised over $500,000 for animals and shelters. This news comes just before the yearly event, Clear the Shelters Day, takes place on August 19th.
“Communities across the country have come together to help support Clear the Shelters Day, a nationwide movement to encourage pet adoption that takes place on August 19. This year alone, over 850 campaigns have raised more than $500,000 to help shelters and animals in their time of need.”
GoFundMe also stated that general animal campaigns raised $30 million on its crowdfunding platform last year.
