Just one month after launching its equity crowdfunding campaign on Seedrs, Netherlands-based scooter company, Bolt Mobility, has successfully raised €2 million from more than 1,600 investors. The company originally sought to raise €1.5 million as it prepares to expand and develop its new AppScooter.
The AppScooter is described as a scooter that accelerates 150% faster and goes up to 400km with our modular electric drivetrain. With a 7″ touchscreen and handlebar controls, Bolt Mobility claims that the AppScooter is the first scooter in the world to safely run Android apps in its cockpit. The company reported:
“AppScooter is the first scooter in the world with a completely modular battery pack. It has the capacity to fit up to 6 battery modules, giving you the choice of a range from 60 to 400 km on a single charge. The modules are packed with commercial automotive grade Lithium-Ion cells from Panasonic to ensure efficiency and reliability, taking you wherever you need to go quickly and safely. Not sure how many modules you need or worried that your living situation may change? No problem, up- or downgrade your range on demand whenever you want and we will come to you and install or remove the battery modules that you requested.”
“We don’t just redesign the scooter, we redesigned the entire value proposition. From the way it’s manufactured and engineered, to the way it’s sold and serviced. Everything we do has one singular purpose: make personal smart mobility as effortless, efficient and fun as huma(chi)n(e)ly possible. To deliver a high-quality product at an affordable price, we are actually building our own large-scale fully automated production line with the capacity for up to 100.000 scooters per year.”
Bolt Mobility’s campaign is set to close later this fall.
