Amazon Growing Business Awards Shortlist. Revolut’s on the List, Lendable & More

The UK Amazon Growing Business Awards ceremony will take place on 29th November 2017 at The Brewery, London. Today, the e-commerce/tech company has announced their shortlist of companies in the mix to win.  According to Amazon, more than 500 nominations were received from across the UK.  The nominations showed strong representations from food & beverage, tech and manufacturing. But Fintech was there, along with some companies that have leveraged crowdfunding to raise growth capital. Revolut, the digital only challenger bank that recently raised money on Seedrs and Lendable, an online consumer lender, are both up for an award.

The Growing Business Awards have celebrated the UK’s businesses and entrepreneurs for 18 years now. The Amazon Growing Business Awards are the UK’s most prestigious awards ceremony that celebrates the successes of the UK’s SMEs and entrepreneurs.

Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager from Amazon, congratulated all of the participants;

The depth and breadth of this year’s shortlist proves why the UK is a great place to set up and run a business,” said Doug Gurr, UK Country Manager, Amazon. “With a record number of applicants, there was a high level of competition in every category. I’d like to congratulate all of the businesses shortlisted and wish them all the best of luck on the awards night.”

Hunter Ruthven, editor of Real Business who partners with Amazon on the event, said it was wonderful to uncover such a wealth of growing businesses;

“The greatest joy is when the winners go on to be global success stories and among the shortlisted businesses announced today, there is tons of potential for British businesses to compete on the global stage.”
