Snoozle, a mobile app that is seeking to change the way the world wakes up, has successfully secured its initial £100,000 funding target through its Seedrs campaign. The initiative was launched earlier this month and has attracted 185 investors. The app’s creators revealed that the free app allows users to wake up every day to a refreshed audio news feed made up of messages from their friends, themselves and chosen social influencers.
“Snoozle is a fun new way to make the first minute of every day better, by changing the way you and your friends wake up. Create and share self-deleting voice notes with your friends that play only at the time they have set their own alarm. Download Snoozle and start using it today to give yourself – and your friends – the best possible start tomorrow, by waking up to banter not beeps.”
The creators also noted:
“At Snoozle, we’ve recognised the growing desire for tailored audio content, because it saves one of the most important things any of us have; time. We believe people will start waking up to an audio news feed that’s current (like a clock-radio), but tailored to the individual and their specific interests (like a Facebook/ Instagram/ Snapchat news feed).”
Snoozle’s team then added they plan to introduce longer form audio content to help users drift off to sleep, and aim to have Snoozle operate across smartphones, smartwatches (and crucially) smart speakers like Amazon Echo. The app is currently available through the Apple App Store, with Android app currently in the works. Funds from the Seedrs campaign will go towards continuing to develop the app. The initiative is set to close later this fall.
