Update: Shaw Academy Extends Crowdcube Round & Closes in on Nearly £2.2 Funding Target

With its Crowdcube campaign currently closing in on its nearly £2.2 funding target, Shaw Academy, an online education provider that teaches a variety of subjects live through a software platform, has decided to extend the funding round. 

As previously reported, Shaw Academy’s key mission is to change billion so lives by providing great education that is accessible and affordable for everyone. Its platform offers live, interactive, online training in various subjects and is provides internationally accredited professional diplomas.

“Since 2014 Shaw Academy has taught over 4,000,000 students from all over the world, we are teaching more than 250,000 new students per month and by December of this year, we expect to change 500,000 new students lives per month. We looked at all e-learning platforms on the market capable of allowing us to scale to millions of students online at any given time and remarkably, we found no such technology. So, we formed a team with what we believe to be some of the finest brains on the planet and we built our own, called Phoenix.”

Shaw Academy also noted that by the end of 2018 it anticipates that it’ll be teaching one million new students per month. The platform currently educates 250,000 students per month. Shaw Academy also noted it is set on educating 1 billion students globally with the goal to fundamentally disrupt the cost of education around the world.

“2016 saw Shaw Academy generate more than €8 million, consistently growing year on year revenues over the past 5 years. So, as we grow from millions to billions of customers, we want to give you the opportunity to not only share in our success but to truly change the world as we know it.”

Funds from the campaign will be used to add new educators, develop more courses, enter new markets, improve customer acquisition, conversion and retention. The campaign is now set to close at the end of November.
