Update: Irish Grocery Delivery Service Buymie to Complete Crowdcube Round With Nearly £400,000 in Funding

Buymie, an Ireland-based grocery delivery service, is set to close its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube with nearly £400,000 in funding from more than 290 investors. As previously reported, Buymie was founded in 2015 and is described as an on-demand grocery delivery platform that allows consumers to order goods from local grocery stores and have them delivered to the door within 1-3 hours. Buymie’s app currently offers consumers ways to connect with a personal shopper, who uses their own smartphone and car to puck up and deliver groceries.

The Buymie app allows consumers to connect with a personal shopper who uses their own smartphone and car to pick and deliver groceries in as little as 1 hour, in return for a delivery fee. The Buymie platform provides a secure data and cashless payment connection between customers and personal shoppers while reducing the cost for retailers to compete online.”

Buymie also claims it is the fastest grocery delivery service in Ireland. During this year alone, the company has secured €400,000 of investments from Unilever Plc, Dragon’s Den Investor Eamonn Quinn, Scott Weavers-Wright, former CEO of Morrisons.com. The service has four core revenue channels:

  • Commission on deliveries (14.75%) + delivery fees
  • Retailer Partnership fees
  • DaaS (Data as a Service for Brands, Retailers & others)
  • Advertising & Promotion (Brands)

Speaking about the Crowdcube campaign’s success and the company’s growth, CEO and Co-Founder of Buymie, Devan Hughes, stated:

“2018 is just around the corner, and we are so thrilled to close out this round of funding and move into the new year with over 270 new investors. This campaign has not only been an incredible experience for myself and the team, but it has also brought far more opportunities than expected. With that being said, we will be making some very exciting announcements in the coming months and we would invite everyone to continue following us on the below channels, so that we can keep you up to date with these exciting new developments.”

All funds from the Crowdcube campaign will be used to continue Buymie’s expansion. It is set to close later this evening.
