Toy brand Hasbro recently announced the launch of its new crowdfunding platform, HasLab. According to the company, HASLAB is a platform that hopes to bring dream products into the hands of fans. It was reported:
“With your support, our goal is to make products that are trophy items both in significance and size that fans have been clamoring for. Once the campaign is backed with the minimum number of backers as listed by the deadline, Hasbro will bring the product to life.”
As part of the HasLab roll out, Hasbro has launched a crowdfunding campaign dedicated to a new toy called The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Sail Barge. The company revealed how the platform works:
- Show support by backing the campaign that interests you by placing a pre-order.
- The product will move into production when the campaign reaches its minimum backing presale goal of 5,000. Hasbro will then stop taking backers at 11:59 EST on April 3rd at which time the payment method that backers used will be charged (if the backing goal has been achieved)
- In the event the campaign is not successfully backed with the minimum number of backers (5,000) by 11:59 EST on April 3rd, 2018, backers will not be charged, and no The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) vehicle or Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench booklet will be sent to you.
- Updates will be posted throughout the production process
- The HASLAB item will be shipped to backers once ready, with an estimated shipping date of February 28th, 2019 for The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) and April 4th for Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench.
The new toy is currently available for backers at the price of $499, which will include:
- The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) complete with exquisitely-detailed and fan accessible interior/exterior decks, two soft-cloth fabric sails, and other realistic features that mimic one of the most notorious vehicles in the Star Wars universe.
- Jabba the Hutt 3.75-inch scale figure.
- Classic Vintage Collection packaging with special limited edition HASLAB seal of authenticity.
- Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna): Behind the Workbench, a premium, 64-page booklet, that goes behind the scenes of the design and development of the actual Sail Barge film set piece and Hasbro toy. Complete with set photos, product blueprints, interviews, and more.
- A dedicated, ongoing stream of behind-the-scenes development updates, keeping you informed as The Vintage Collection Jabba’s Sail Barge (The Khetanna) makes its way from a dream at Hasbro to a reality in your hands (subject to reaching the minimum backing goal).
Since its launch, the campaign has attracted more than 1180 in pre-orders.
