Less than a year after securing more than $324,000 through crowdfunding platform Indiegogo for its upcoming Doghouse hotel at its U.S. brewery near Columbus, Ohio, crowdfunding brewing company BrewDog has announced a second hotel at its Scotland brewery.
As previously reported, BrewDog stated that Doghouse is considered the first crowdfunded craft beer hotel. The hotel will notably feature beer-themed rooms, punk jacuzzi, shower beer fridges, a spa that will have malted barley massages and hop face masks. Explaining the purpose of the hotel, BrewDog shared:
“We want to create the top craft beer destination on the planet. Our brewery in Ellon, Scotland has become a destination for craft beer fans across Europe, and we want to build an even more amazing beer destination stateside. With The DogHouse focused on amazing craft beer from BrewDog and our favourite breweries worldwide, we’re creating the ideal environment in which to immerse yourself in the ultimate beery weekend.”
While sharing details about the upcoming 26-room hotel, BrewDog Co-Founder, James Watt, stated to the Telegraph:
“The Doghouse is our gift to passionate craft beer fans making the pilgrimage to our brewery in Aberdeenshire. This will be the ultimate destination for craft beer fans seeking hops with their holidays.”
BrewDog also reported that its remarkable growth has been powered by its Equity for Punks crowdfunding initiative, which has seen the Scottish brewery raise over £52 million since 2009 from more than 70,000 craft beer fans across Europe and America.
In 2016, BrewDog USA launched its first crowdfunding raise in America under Reg A+ with the offering closing on July 28, 2017. Equity for Punks USA raised over $7,000,000 from more than 8,000 investors. The brewery has also filed a new Form 1-A indicating its intent to raise more funding.
The first Doghouse craft hotel is currently scheduled to open in the third quarter of 2018.
