Singapore based Huobi Global has announced the launch of Huobi Prime Lite, a launch platform for digital assets.
As part of the launch, Huobi said that Prime Lite sold 33 million “Thunder Tokens” (TT), the native token of the ThunderCore project (Price Limit: 1 TT =$0.015 ). Huobi said over 26,000 purchases participated in the token offering. TT is now fully tradable with additional pairs launching soon.
Huobi CEO Livio Weng called the launch a big step forward for its users.
Prime Lite is said to be a streamlined version of the Huobi Prime coin launch platform.
It was not immediately clear why two separate token issuance platforms were needed.
Several weeks back, Huobi shared in a blog post that Prime Lite is a niche brand of Huobi Prime but projects listing through Prime Lite are still required to meet all the thresholds for their evaluation model. Issuers will be able to leverage resources from Huobi’s worldwide local exchanges, Huobi Pool, Huobi Wallet, Huobi Chat as well as Huobi Eco Partners.
The differences between Prime and Lite were described as follows:
- Shorter listing cycle and more flexible listing schedule
- Trading allocations for users are more flexible
- To facilitate the development of HT (Huobi Token), all HT exchanged will be burnt
Huobi said that ThunderCore was created by cryptographic researchers Elaine Shi and Rafael Pass, of Cornell University and Cornell Tech, as well as CEO Chris Wang, founder of the social media gaming company Playdom.
ThunderCore is said to be able to achieve fast throughputs of 1,200+ TPS, sub-second confirmation times, and full Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) dApp compatibility.
Prime Lite is just an appetizer🍰, but still 20,000+ people participated. The main course will be coming for Huobi Prime 3. We will announce the project at the Huobi NYC meetup on May 12th.
Project Hint: it’s invested by 30+ top investors from Silicon Valley.#HuobiPrime
