GoodBox Returns to Seedrs; Now Seeking £1 Million in Funding

Less than two years after securing £2.6 million through its previous Seedrs campaign, GoodBox, a tech-company focused on building solutions that connect donors and causes, has returned to the equity crowdfunding platform to raise £1 million.

As previously reported, GoodBox was founded in 2016 by ex-Credit Suisse investment banker Andrew O’Brien and Francesca Hodgson. It describes itself as a technology company solely focused on building solutions that effortlessly connect donors and causes. Its flagship product modernizes a familiar but dated form of donating: the coin collection box.

“Backed by ex-WorldPay C-Level executives, GoodBox is a tech-for-good company revolutionising the charity sector with pioneering fundraising technologies which effortlessly connect donors and causes. Through our suite of contactless hardware, we have worked with over 600 charities and processed over £2,000,000 in donations. In that time, we’ve scaled to a team of 25, collected an array of awards, been part of prestigious accelerator programmes and made headlines. But this is only the start. Over the next year we plan to be expanding our portal with a host of new fundraising tools, and internationalising. Our mission? A better world. Where some of mankind’s greatest challenges have been consigned to history.

GoodBox’s previous Seedrs round attracted more than 575 investors, including tennis star Andy Murray. The company’s latest campaign notably forms an extension of an additional £1.3 million closed in the second quarter of 2019. The share price for this raise, which includes an institutional (VC) investor of £500,000, remains the same. Also investing in this round are the founders, with a total of £206,000 committed. The funds from the latest campaign will be used for the following:

  • Hardware/stock: GoodBox will continue to build our products to fulfill the forecasted pipeline
  • Research and Development: GoodBox is always seeking to innovate; its solutions are designed to evolve as the Fundraising landscape changes
  • Team expansion: Enabling GoodBox to expand the tech and sales teams

Since its launch, Goodbox’s campaign has so far raised more than £885,000. It is set to close later this fall.
