Deloitte’s 2019 Technology Fast 500 Reveals Several Big Fintech Names on the List

The Deloitte Technology Fast 500 aims to be one of the most objective rankings for technology, media, telecommunications, life sciences, and energy technology firms for the past 25 years.

As noted on the Big Four auditing firm’s website:

“Combining technological innovation, entrepreneurship, and rapid growth, Fast 500 companies—large, small, public, and private—hail from cities far and wide across North America and are disrupting the technology industry.”

Deloitte’s ranking system was developed in order to recognize the effort and commitment of the world’s most innovative and fastest-growing tech firms. According to the professional services company, winners are chosen based on their “percentage fiscal-year revenue growth” during a three-year timeframe.

The ranking is created after reviewing applications that are submitted to the Technology Fast 500 website and public company database research performed by Deloitte’s management.

To be eligible for Technology Fast 500 recognition, companies are required to own intellectual property or technology that is being sold to their clients. The property or products must be a major source of the firm’s earnings. Companies should have “base-year operating revenues” of at least $50,000, and “current-year operating revenues” of $5 million (or more).

Companies must also be at least four years old, and have their headquarters in North America.

New York-based software development firm UiPath has been ranked first. It experienced 37,458% growth over the past year. Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc., a biotechnology/pharmaceutical firm, is ranked second. It experienced 23,925% growth during the past year.

Software companies Auditboard, Outreach, and iLearningEngines Inc. have been ranked third, fourth, and fifth respectively.

Some of the well known Fintechs on the list include LendingPoint (9), and OppLoans (91)

Several real estate platforms are on the list including Unison (19), PeerStreet (23), CrowdStreet (111) and Fundrise (344).
