Payments Provider Klarna Announces Expansion of Partnership With UK Footwear Retailer schuh

Payment processing platform Klarna announced earlier this week it is expanding its partnership with UK-based footwear retailer schuh to allow its service, Pay in 3, to be available in-store at more than 110 outlets across the UK. The company further explained:

“The integration of Klarna’s in-store payment service emphasises schuh’s focus on developing a first-class omni-channel strategy, offering easy and flexible consumer financing right at point of sale. schuh customers will receive a mobile notification to start the in-store application of Pay in 3, followed by three steps of minimal personal detail entry and a real-time decision made in just seconds.”

Klarna also noted that schuh will become the first UK retailer to integrate its “Instant Buy” button, allowing shoppers to purchase at any point of the purchase process. Luke Griffiths, Klarna’s UK General Manager, spoke about the partnership expansion by stating the following:

“schuh has completely embraced what our offer can provide to their in-store presence. We’ve seen first hand schuh’s unrelenting focus on providing the best customer experience across channels, which is why we wanted them to be the first to launch our “Instant Buy” button in the UK, giving customers even more convenience when shopping on screen. With a double-digit uplift in sales conversions using Pay later, schuh understands the power of payments for driving growth, and we can’t wait to see what consumers think of the full range of our pay later products, currently loved by 4 million shoppers in the UK.”

Sean McKee, Director of Ecommerce and Customer Experience at Schuh, concluded:
