Hong Kong-based Insurtech Blue Cross Launches New Services to Help Users Customize Travel Insurance Plans

Hong Kong-headquartered Blue Cross, a major insurance services provider, is set to introduce its Travel Smart MultiTrip Insurance Package, which will allow clients to customize their travel insurance plans. The company has also introduced the Flight Delay Cash Allowance Extension, which reportedly comes with an auto-claim service and a friendly chatbot BC Buddy that answers travel insurance inquiries 24 hours a day.

Patrick Wan, MD at Blue Cross, stated:

“To enhance customer service experience, Blue Cross keeps rolling out innovative products and digital services by embracing InsurTech in its operations. As we all know, Hong Kong people are very frequent travellers, with many of them taking several trips a year very often.” 

Wan added that being able to understand a customers’ specific insurance requirements is important, and the launch of Travel Smart MultiTrip Insurance Package, Flight Delay Cash Allowance Extension with Auto-claim Service will improve the customer experience by making it simpler and more convenient to select the best insurance deals.

Blue Cross is notably a member of The Bank of East Asia Group and has over five decades of experience in the global insurance business. The company offers a wide range of products and services such as medical, travel and general insurance, which aim to cater to the needs of corporate clients and individuals.

Last year, Blue Cross was given a financial strength rating of A. It also received a long-term issuer credit rating of ‘A’ by A.M. Best, a multinational credit rating company focused on developing products for the financial services sector.
