Overfunding: Medical Real-Time Communication Solution Medic Bleep Surpasses £500,000 Funding Target Through Crowdcube Round

Medic Bleep, a UK-based secure and real-time medical communication solution, has successfully secured its initial £500,000 funding target through its equity crowdfunding campaign on Crowdcube. The funding round has already attracted nearly 275 Crowdcube investors.

Founded in 2015, Medic Bleep claims it enables doctors, nurses and the wider team to communicate and collaborate more effectively, accelerating productivity, reducing costs, and improving patient outcomes.

“Replacing traditional pagers, switchboard, landline and fax methodology which exist across the NHS and healthcare system globally. These communication modalities are one way and one to one. Medic Bleep reimagines this for the healthcare system. Our research suggests that poor inter team communication is the primary cause for 21% of patient harm; meaning a possible 400,000 episodes of potential harm a year, in the NHS alone.”

Speaking about the company’s growth and development, Dr. Sandeep Bansal, Founder and CEO of Medic Bleep, stated:

“There are some fundamentals which need to be in place prior to scaling at place in healthcare, to make sure we do right for you all as citizens, for the staff and also for the system. Solving communication challenges in the NHS/social care system or indeed any healthcare system globally might seem simple, but there are many intricacies. To pull the entire solution together to solve this problem, there have been many pieces we have put together.”

Funds from the Crowdcube round will go towards the development of Medic Bleep’s equipment. The company is currently offering 7.70% in equity at a £6,382,094 pre-money valuation. The campaign is set to close mid-April.
