Netcapital, a FINRA regulated funding portal offering securities under Reg CF, now accepts investments via an individual’s credit or debit card thus making it easier to participate in investment offerings on the platform.
Previously, Netcapital accepted wires, ACH, and Netcapital wallet transfers but for any purchase convenience is expected today.
Jason Frishman, founder and CEO of Netcapital, commented in a release:
“One of our key strategic goals is to make it easy to invest on Netcapital. Now, it’s as easy to do that as to buy a shirt on Amazon.”
Under Reg CF, a company may raise up to $1.07 million from both accredited and non-accredited investors. A platform can increase the amount being raised for a company by simultaneously offering securities under Reg D – an exemption that is open only to accredited investors but has no funding cap. An issuer must host a Reg CF offering via a Funding Portal (or broker-dealer) and is required to supply certain information for potential investors to review.
