Sberbank Launches Cloud Services for Businesses to Sign Payment Documents Through Mobile App

Russian banking group Sberbank announced on Thursday it is rolling out cloud service for businesses to sign payment documents inside the bank’s mobile app. Sberbank explained that users of its corporate banking solution will be able to clear payments and sign documents through non-certified digital signatures (NDS) using a cloud service.

“Once you join the service, digital signature keys will be generated and uploaded to the bank’s clouds, and the bank’s certifying center will issue an NDS certificate. When signing a document, you need to confirm your access to the authentication key via biometrics or a PIN code. After that, the app will send a confirmation to the cloud to create an e-signature.”

Sberbank also noted that the NDS is now available to Sberbank customers, but it requires a special flash drive (token) and can only be used on the Sberbank Business Online website. Sberbank added:

“Inside the mobile app, the NDS will unlock new opportunities which are unavailable with SMS confirmation codes: shortly, large-scale payment clearance will become available. Reliability and security of transactions will soon be improved while handling of incidents and disputes will be simplified.”
