Toast Names Elena Gomez As New CFO

 

 

Toast, a U.S.-based restaurant management fintech platform, announced on Thursday it has appointed Elena Gomez as CFO. Toast reported in the role, Gomez will lead its finance organization and will be responsible for accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, and business operations.

According to Toast, Gomez has more than 25 years of experience in leading companies. Since May 2016, she was CFO at Zendesk, where she notably helped scale the company to more than $1 billion in annual revenue, as well as manage growth across the enterprise and develop multi-year long-range plans. She also previously held positions at Salesforce, Visa, and Charles Schwab. While speaking about her new role, Gomez stated:

“I have long admired Toast’s differentiated business model and proud history advocating for restaurants and their customers and communities. I am excited to join the team in continuing to enhance Toast’s reach and impact within the restaurant ecosystem and helping to power the future success of restaurants of all sizes.”

Chris Comparato, CEO of Toast, then added:

“[Gomez has] a proven business leader and financial executive with more than two decades of experience leading the financial operations of businesses sitting at the intersection of technology, commerce, and customer experience.”

Launched in 2013, Toast claims that it empowers restaurants of all sizes to build great teams, increase revenue, improve operations, and delight guests. The company further explained:

“We pair our deep understanding of the restaurant industry with powerful cloud based software and restaurant-grade hardware to deliver an intuitive, all-in-one platform, across point of sale, guest marketing, digital ordering & delivery, and payroll and HR.”
