Axiata Digital’s digital wallet Boost revealed earlier this week that it has further expanded its insurance offerings with the introduction of automobile insurance, called “CarProtect,” which has been underwritten by Great Eastern General Insurance (Malaysia) Berhad.
The digital wallet provider stated that CarProtect provides clients with protection in their pockets, along with a seamless and convenient way to customize their auto insurance plan – which may be best suited to their requirements.
CarProtect provides a 1-year coverage plan for damage to the automobile insured due to accidents, theft or accidental fires, and liabilities to third-parties (including bodily injuries, death, property loss or damage).
It also provides customizable add-on coverage for windscreen, flood and other accidents along with a waiver of compulsory excess (inclusive of additional drivers).
Clients may also renew their road tax at the same time and have it conveniently delivered to their doorsteps. As an additional safety feature, Boost developed an Emergency Button for CarProtect clients that provides them with 24/7 access to automobile assistance.
The button directs clients to the emergency contacts such as insurance claims, panel of workshops and Boost’s roadside assistance partners if there’s an accident or some type of breakdown.
With this updated feature, users need not constantly search the Internet or their phone books for assistance during highly stressful emergency situations. The digital wallet has been offering various insurance plans and currently has around 15 different offerings, which are available via an easy-to-use app.
Sheyantha Abeykoon, CEO of Boost, stated:
“The launch of our new car insurance protection is another step forward in driving innovation within the Malaysian Insurtech space. As we continue to develop more affordable insurance plans for the future, we will continue to emphasize on customization to give users the flexibility of crafting the right plan at the right price to protect themselves and their loved ones.”
