ID Verification Service Veriff Continues its International Expansion Efforts with New Barcelona based Technology Hub

Veriff is focused on continuing its global expansion with a new Barcelona-based tech hub.

The Veriff team writes in a blog post they’re coming to Barcelona and that their new hub will open soon, and they’re currently looking for talent in the Catalan city.

As mentioned in a blog post by the company:

“We’re excited to announce that we will be launching a tech hub for our product and engineering teams in Barcelona. This comes on the heels of our New York City office opening in late 2019 and building a stronger presence in London earlier this year as we expand globally, with over 300 employees from 35 different nationalities.”

They added:

“We’re on our way to reaching a goal of 500 employees by Q2 next year, and we’ll now tap into the impressive talent pool in Barcelona and become an active part of the burgeoning tech ecosystem in the city.”

Barcelona provides a dynamic, fast-evolving startup ecosystem and has managed to attract more private equity investment in recent years than Madrid, Dublin, and Amsterdam, “making it the fifth-biggest source of venture capital in Europe.”

Veriff’s VP of Product Duncan Steblyna will reportedly be leading the hub and will be joined by several team members from Veriff’s Tallinn headquarters “who will serve as ambassadors of the company culture.”

The announcement also mentioned:

“We’re looking for a number of new hires to join the team with the goal of reaching 50 employees by early next year, including DevOps engineers, machine learning engineers, senior information security engineers, senior software engineers, a head of design, and a senior product manager.”

“We’re thrilled to call Barcelona our next home, not only because it’s a strong European tech hub, but also because it has some of the best product and engineering talent in the world,” stated Steblyna.

Steblyna also mentioned that this is yet another key step in their international expansion as they protect clients across the globe from identity fraud, and they are looking forward to building another solid team in their new Veriff location.

Veriff serves an international portfolio of organizations across Fintech, crypto, mobility, and many other sectors including customers such as Blockchain, Bolt, Opera, Uphold, Wise, and more. The firm has several Fintech-focused customers in Spain such as Rebellion Pay and HeyTrade.

Veriff’s management noted that they will expand their reach and local customer efforts this coming year.
