SoftPOS is an app created by Nexi, which is one of Europe’s Paytech firms operating in high growth markets and technologically-advanced economies. SoftPOS has been introduced for the business customers of UniCredit Bank.
With SoftPOS, users are able to provide the option of card payment to their clients, by using their smartphones as a terminal.
SoftPOS enables business owners, among other small merchants, artisans, and freelance workers to have access to a virtual payment terminal – which is available via an app on their smartphone.
The app enables NFC Android mobile phones and tablets to take contactless payments in any amount. Clients may use a PIN code, thanks to the PIN On Glass feature. This means that no additional hardware is required while the app complies with robust security standards.
Thanks to SoftPOS, there is no longer any need for businesses to rent a physical POS terminal, which also means reduced overall costs. The app provides stats as well as graphs of payment transactions, enabling users to monitor the progress of their turnover.
The consumers are able to make purchases with their contactless payment instruments such as cards, mobile wallets, or wearables, while taking advantage of a high-level user experience.
Giacomo Volpi, Deputy CEO at UniCredit Bank, stated:
