Starting next month, Dealmaker, an online investment platform, will seek to engage investors in the US and Canada to back firms raising capital that are based in the UK.
Dealmaker claims that it is the “only platform now built for international capital market raises.”
UK issuers will be able to invite investors from the UK, the US, and Canada to participate in their funding rounds with Dealmaker managing the regulatory requirements from the different jurisdictions.
Mat Goldstein, Co-founder & CSO of DealMaker, says this is very exciting for their company:
“… our mission has always been to work towards one global capital market, and this offering is an incredible first step.”
DealMaker currently has offices in both Canada and the US.
While DealMaker is looking to consolidate transatlantic securities offerings, at least two US-based platforms are working with UK platforms to cross-list UK and US offerings.
SeedInvest has invested in Crowdcube, and Republic has acquired Seedrs in a transaction that is expected to close in the coming months. Republic-Seedrs frequently promote issuers based in each country. Neither Seedrs/Republic nor SeedInvest/Crowdcube have broken into the Canadian securities crowdfunding market.
