Fireblocks Expands Web3 Connectivity with NEAR DeFi, dApps Support

The team at Fireblocks is pleased to announce support for DeFi on NEAR, “enabling connection to NEAR dApps via their Web3 engine.”

Effective immediately, Fireblocks users can “securely access DeFi yields through lending, borrowing, and any Web3 apps built for NEAR that integrate WalletConnect.”

Fireblocks recently announced their support for Solana dApps “through expanding [their] Web3 engine.”

As the first enterprise-grade gateway to allow secure connection to non-EVM chains, Fireblocks claims they are “bringing unprecedented access to the growing world of Web3 for our global user base; now, institutions can also access DeFi on NEAR securely and efficiently.”

Marieke Flament, CEO of NEAR Foundation said:

“This is a tremendous milestone for NEAR as we aim to work with top tier technology providers such as Fireblocks to reach a wider user community and to safely accelerate crypto adoption around the world. This integration is key to unlocking the support of the institutional investment community and the tier 1 institutions that want to access NEAR tokens and other applications that are becoming essential to the future of finance.”

Enterprise-grade access to DeFi on NEAR is now live on Fireblocks:

As of today, Fireblocks users “have enterprise-grade access to the NEAR Web3 ecosystem through the Fireblocks WalletConnect integration, which can now securely enable vault connections to non-EVM chain dApps.”

Using the DeFi suite part of Fireblocks’ Web3 Engine, customers “can set custom limits by contract, amount, user, and more with robust DeFi policy controls when interacting with decentralized platforms starting with Meta Yield, Burrow and Ref.Finance.”

As noted in the update, NEAR is “a high-performance blockchain that is designed to be super-fast, incredibly secure, and infinitely scalable.”

NEAR’s vision is “to create a network that enables people to reimagine finance, creativity, and community in new and inclusive ways.”

NEAR is “built by a … team of engineers and entrepreneurs to be simple to use, inclusive and good for the environment.”

NEAR is backed by VCs “such as A16Z, Pantera Capital, Electric Capital, Dragonfly Capital, Coinbase Ventures, Blockchain.com, and Baidu Ventures.”
