Tron Founder Added to Huobi Advisory Board

Huobi Global, the operator of one of the world’s largest crypto exchanges, has selected Justin (Yuchen) Sun to join the Huobi Global Advisory Board.

Sun is the creator of TRON, a blockchain-based operating system that claims more than 110 million monthly active users.

The Advisory Board is responsible for guiding Huobi Global’s strategic layout and development and promoting a new chapter of Huobi Global’s international development.

Other members of the Huobi Advisory Board include:

  • Ted Chen, Founder of Bacera Capital, formerly Founder of Jinglin Asset Partners
  • Du Jun, Co-founder of Huobi Global
  • Wang Yang, Vice President, Hong Kong University of Science and Technology
  • Leah Wald, Co-Founder of Valkyrie Investments and Founder of the first ETFs in Bitcoin

Huobi states that the Advisory Board members will help Huobi with its expansion roadmap as part of a “new chapter” in the company’s development.

Last week, it was reported that Leon Li, Huobi founder and controlling shareholder, had sold his entire ownership to Hong Kong-based asset management firm About Capital Management. Details on the transaction were not disclosed.

Huobi was founded in China in 2013 at the beginning of the crypto boom. Initially, it had to manage China’s crackdown on crypto, moving operations outside the country. More recently, Huobi, like many other platforms, has had to do with declining values in crypto markets. Additionally, trading activity has plummeted.
