Tokeny Enables another Digital Security with VC Fund.
Emprendeduros has launched a tokenized VC fund. Co-founded by entrepreneurs Rodrigo Navarro and Alejandro Salomon, Emprendeduros is a media firm/podcast series that has developed a popular Spanish entrepreneurship show with up to 1.2 million weekly listeners. As part of an expansion of its services, Emprendeduros aims to invest in promising young firms with a VC fund and provide access to its community. Emprendeduros aims to “democratize investment opportunities” by allowing its audience to invest in the digital fund with a minimum amount of $500.
According to the Emprendeduros website, the VC fund will be open-ended, and the entity will be reporting to the US Securities and Exchange Commission. There will be annual redemption periods with limited liquidity. The investment is expected to be locked up for a minimum of three years. The average investment will be between $200,0000 to $600,000.
The fund is accepting investors today but it is not clear if Emprendeduros has already backed any private firms.
To accomplish this task, Emprendeduros has enlisted the assistance of top digital securities platform, Luxembourg-based Tokeny.
The company states that it has selected Tokeny for its no-code white-label tokenization platform for the security tokens. This streamlines the issuance and securities management process by automating much of the tasks while freeing Emprendeduros to focus its energy on finding promising ventures and its podcast.
Navarro believes that tokenization is the future of investing, and they see themselves being at the forefront of this movement:
“Our goal with this venture capital fund is to not only help our community invest in promising businesses but also to bring them closer to these companies and create a sense of ownership and connection. Tokenization allows us to do this in a secure and efficient manner.”
Luc Falempin, CEO of Tokeny, says that the value of tokenization becomes clear when managing a large number of investors who want active portfolio management. Falempin says they believe “Emprendeduros will set a strong example for the industry.”
