Brightwell, a payments technology company that builds financial products to send money securely anywhere in the world and one of the leaders at the forefront of innovative fintech solutions, announced that it has hired Robert Berris “as the company’s first Chief Innovation Officer.”

Considered an “accomplished” leader in business strategy, marketing, user experience, and corporate innovation with over 20 years of experience, Berris most recently “served as Executive Vice President and Managing Director of Three Five Two, Inc. (352), an innovation and growth firm.”

During his time there, he “led the day-to-day operations and most notably founded the Innovation practice – a new line of business that addressed the most pressing challenges and market opportunities with Fortune 500 executives.”

In his new role at Brightwell, Berris will “apply innovation principles to uncover new market and customer opportunities, as well as forge paths for business growth and value creation.”

He will be “focused on finding new ways to further Brightwell’s mission of securely connecting people around the globe to financial services.

Larry Hipp, Brightwell Chief Executive Officer, said:

“A leader who knows the attributes of successful business frameworks and corporate strategy, Robert’s experience and expertise is a perfect match for Brightwell’s present and future. His ability to transform methodologies into human-centered innovative processes and widen the scope of possibilities by attacking problems from different vantage points, catapults our organization as it looks to offer unique solutions that support the payments industry.”

The hiring of Berris “comes on the heels of a series of several awards and achievements for Brightwell including its partnerships with Visa to expand real-time payment capabilities for customers and Dash Solutions to introduce new levels of security and remittance capabilities, as well as recognitions as a Top Atlanta Workplace and cross-border payment innovation by the FinTech Breakthrough Awards Program.”

Berris added:

“I’m looking forward to this next chapter. When considering the trajectory of my career and my next step, it was important to me that I join a team that is mission-driven and has a passion for providing solutions that don’t just disrupt, but ultimately help others. Brightwell fits the bill in every facet imaginable. From expanding access to payments for the global workforce to ensuring secure and compliant global payments for Fortune 500 organizations, I’m eager to expand on services that make the lives of its users easier.”

Driven by a passion for financial inclusion and empowerment, Atlanta-based financial technology company Brightwell claims it is “living out its mission to create products that help people and businesses send money securely across the globe.”
