Following an initial €2.5 million from the Bulgarian Development Bank’s (BDB) Capital Investment Fund in February, Evrotrust eID is now part of the national eID program in Bulgaria. Bulgarian individuals and businesses will be able to access EU public services digitally from their mobile phones.
The company states that Bulgaria is the first national electronic identification program recognized by the country’s Council of Ministers and validated by the
European Commission.
The program is part of an EU plan to incorporate eIDs for each EU member state.
Evrotrust eID says the approval reflects significant progress for the digital industry in Bulgaria and will help firms expand their services abroad.
By using Evrotrust eID, Bulgarian as well as foreign individuals and legal entities will gain access to digital services throughout the European Union.
Evrotrust eID reports more than 1 million users between the ages of 18 and 80 in its system and claims to be a leader in authentication services in the Bulgarian market.
Among Evrotrust’s business clients are Mastercard, UniCredit Bulbank, Raiffeisen Bank, UBB, DSK Bank, SoftServe, EPAM, Sutherland, TELUS International, Bayer Kenya, and others.
Georgi Dimitrov, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Evrotrust, said they are extremely proud of having been selected as a national provider of eIDs
”This achievement is a testament to the company’s dedication to providing high-tech remote identity authentication and e-signature services with maximum security.
