Payments Fintech Volt has raised a $60 million Series B funding round. The company said the backing was indicative of the confidence in the UK Fintech sector.
The additional capital will be utilized to expand into new markets, including Asia Pacific and the Americas. At the same time, the funds will be used to continue to develop products in the UK and the EU.
The funding round was led by IVP, with new money coming from CommerzVentures. Existing investors participating include EQT Ventures, Augmentum Fintech PLC, and Fuel Ventures.
Tom Greenwood, CEO of Volt, said the support was a testament to their progress.
Volt is a global real-time payments provider that works with many well-known firms, including Worldpay from FIS, and Shopify, to become the commerce platform’s first open banking provider.
Angela Zhu, Partner at IVP, said the transition to RTP [real-time payments] systems, merchants are experiencing the immense benefits of instant, secure, and cost-effective A2A payments.
