april, an AI-powered financial technology focused on taxes, this week welcomed two new leadership team members. Christina Taylor is the new VP of tax development and delivery while Antonea Nabors becomes product design lead.
Taylor moves over from Cash App Taxes (a Block subsidiary) where she was head of product delivery. She will report to april’s CTO and co-founder, Daniel Marcous, and work closely with april’s tax and engineering teams to develop april’s full suite of tax products including estimation and optimization.
“Throughout my career, I’ve been passionate about advancing innovation in the tax industry, said Taylor. “april’s tax intelligence is completely revolutionizing the way Americans approach their taxes.”
While at Cash App Taxes, Taylor oversaw the planning, design, development, and execution of Cash App Taxes’ e-filing product. Earlier in her career, she was part of a team that developed an online do-it-yourself tax preparation product that later became Credit Karma Tax. During her time at Credit Karma Tax, Taylor served as the head of operations, where she managed all product aspects. She also founded her own accounting consultancy and has appeared in USA Today, CBS News, and U.S. News & World Report.
Nabors brings more than 15 years of experience in the tech and fintech industry. She joins from Calibrate where she served as Director of Product Design. At april, Nabors will work with UX and product designers, tax specialists, and engineering teams to oversee the design of a completely new, mobile-first way for users to file their taxes.
Also joining the team is Rocket Money alum Noah Brown as senior product manager. Both he and Nabors report to Derlen Chiu, VP of product.
“We are thrilled to welcome such talented industry leaders to our team,” co-founder and CEO Ben Borodach said. “Christina, Antonea and Noah’s leadership and expertise will help fuel the next chapter of growth for april.”
