Singapore: OCBC to Discontinue Pay Anyone App in October

Singapore multinational banking and financial services firm OCBC has announced that the OCBC Pay Anyone app will be retired in October, with the exact date to be confirmed soon.

This is part of OCBC’s commitment to offer an enhanced app experience by integrating the features of OCBC Pay Anyone into the OCBC Digital app. Users are advised to download the OCBC Digital app to continue accessing their favorite features from OCBC Pay Anyone, along with additional services.

The consolidation ensures that users can enjoy seamless access to popular services such as local and overseas payments, transfers to contacts, and cardless cash withdrawals from OCBC ATMs, which were previously available on OCBC Pay Anyone, according to the announcement.

The OCBC Digital app will enable payments in Singapore and over 40 other international markets, allowing users a broader spectrum of financial activities.

OCBC has emphasized the convenience of the transition, assuring users that by simply downloading and logging in to the OCBC Digital app, they will be able to view all past transactions, including those conducted through OCBC Pay Anyone, under their account’s transaction history.

This move is highly strategic for OCBC, as it aims to streamline its digital services, offer enriched features, and provide an improved user experience through a singular, integrated platform.

By consolidating services under the OCBC Digital app, the bank appears to be positioning itself to better meet the evolving needs of its consumers, fostering more engagement and interaction through a simplified and unified interface.

As the deadline for the removal of OCBC Pay Anyone approaches, the bank is strongly recommending that users who have not yet downloaded the OCBC Digital app do so promptly to avoid any inconvenience.

It has made the transition user-friendly, with the “Go to OCBC Digital” button facilitating quick downloads and easy access to the wide range of services and features available on the OCBC Digital app.
