Financement Participatif France (FPF), the French Crowdfunding Association, has distributed an X that highlights women’s participation in the securities crowdfunding sector.
Notoriously, the VC sector has supported fewer female-founded firms than crowdfunding platforms. Recently, Financement Participatif posted a report on investment crowdfunding activity in the country and part of the data showed the activity of women in the sector.
The crowdfunding association notes that
- 17.3% of investors in online securities offerings are women
- 16.7% of firms raising money have women executives
- Almost 50% of employees (45.5%) are women.

Quelques chiffres :
▪ + 17,3% d’investisseuses (2021-2023)

The FPF reports that crowdfunding in France declined for the first time in 2023, dropping by 11.3% but still topping €2 billion. In total, over €9 billion has been raised by platforms since the sector has been active. FPF incorporates donations/rewards (e-commerce) in their numbers, but this segment is very small.
