Insurtech Cover Whale Extends Auto Liability Insurance Coverage in Additional US States

Cover Whale Insurance Solutions, Inc., an Insurtech specializing in connected insurance for commercial auto insurance, continues its expansion across the United States, announcing the availability of its auto liability coverage for truckers and fleets in six additional states: Maine, Montana, Nebraska, North Dakota, South Dakota, and Vermont.

With this significant development, Cover Whale now “offers auto liability coverage in 39 states.”

Accounting for its other lines of coverage, “including auto physical damage, motor truck cargo, non-trucking liability, and truckers’ general liability, the company’s footprint extends to 46 states in all.”

Dan Abrahamsen, CEO of Cover Whale said:

“Being able to write auto liability coverage in nearly 80% of the states, and other lines in more than 90% is quite the achievement for Cover Whale. And we’ll be adding more.”

Cover Whale remains dedicated “to empowering agents and providing them with the tools they need to serve their clients effectively.”

The company’s user-friendly online platform “allows agents to quickly and easily quote and bind coverage for their clients, streamlining the insurance buying process.”

Earlier this year, the company added electronic “logging devices (ELDs) to its Driver Safety Program as an option for telemetry data-sharing, along with its dash cam option, giving policyholders additional flexibility when binding auto liability coverage.”

As noted in the update, Cover Whale, an Insurtech “founded by experienced insurance and technology veterans, focuses on technology, underwriting, and data to provide innovative insurance programs for the commercial auto industry.”

Operating as a managing general agent (MGA), the company currently “has more than 15,000 in-force policyholders, ending 2023 with a two-year CAGR of 85% while maintaining industry-leading loss ratios.”

Cover Whale’s unique Driver Safety Program “combines coverage with telematics, and real-time driver coaching to reduce claims, keep drivers safe and save lives on America’s roads.”

Cover Whale delivers its product “through more than 6,000 agents with the industry’s fastest, most agent-friendly online quote and bind experience.”

With a fundamental belief that safe driving should be rewarded, Cover Whale-insured drivers may receive “up to 30% off when renewing their auto liability policy.”
