New York-based Fintech firm Finsight Group Inc announced its acquisition of T-REX, a cloud-native platform known for its capabilities in modeling and managing complex investments across private credit, structured credit, and project finance.
The acquisition includes the onboarding of Benjamin Cohen, founder and CEO of T-REX, Arad Shaiber, CTO, along with key personnel from both the U.S. and Tel Aviv locations, according to the announcement.
Cohen commented on the acquisition, highlighting the decade-long efforts of T-REX to address critical challenges in data quality, integration, and modeling across structured debt.
“Today marks an incredible leap forward in achieving those ends. Coupling the T-REX platform with Finsight’s deep market penetration within structured finance will enable the industry to deploy capital more rapidly, confidently, and with reduced risk,” said Cohen.
Finsight CEO Leo Efstathiou expressed his appreciation for the T-REX team and outlined the strategic benefits of the acquisition.
“For years, our clients have sought a modern alternative for collateral and cashflow management. This acquisition allows us to fulfill that need,” Efstathiou said.
Efstathiou further emphasized the enhanced capabilities that the merger will bring.
“We are excited to share our vision for the consolidated entity with all of T-REX and Finsight’s partners. This move will lead to a more dynamic, accessible, and cost-effective cashflow modeling solution than currently available in the industry,” he added.
The transaction officially closed on Wednesday, April 24, 2024.
Finsight, a privately held software provider, serves a global client base including leading institutional investors, investment banks, and corporations.
Its applications support the management of hundreds of billions of dollars in capital markets activity each year, providing critical visibility and insights.
T-REX, on the other hand, has been pivotal in modernizing data infrastructure within the asset-backed finance ecosystem, delivering enhanced levels of transparency, efficiency, and insight across complex asset classes, thus enabling stakeholders to maximize returns and streamline capital flows effectively.
