Anchorage Digital Bank Adds Former Goldman Exec to Board of Directors

Anchorage Digital Bank, a federally chartered digital bank that serves the digital asset sector, has appointed Connie Shoemaker, a former Goldman Sachs executive, to its Board of Directors.

Shoemaker currently serves as Chief Operating Officer and Chief Financial Officer of Bridgewater Associates Holdings, Bridgewater’s parent company.

Previously, Shoemaker served as Chief Administrative Officer for Goldman Sachs Bank USA and was the global head of Goldman’s strategy function during the global financial crisis. There, she incubated new business across the firm and led efforts to grow Goldman’s asset management business.

Shoemaker is a graduate of Duke University School of Law and the University of Alabama.

Nathan McCauley, President of Anchorage Digital Bank, said that adding Shoemaker highlights the bank’s commitment to providing institutions with the best regulated digital asset products.

“With parallel experience building a commercial bank at Goldman Sachs that led to new business lines and successful product launches, Connie brings exactly the expertise we need to advance the growth and expansion of the only OCC-chartered digital asset bank.”

Shoemaker joins current independent board members, including Sarah Elliott, a former OCC attorney, and Julie L. Williams,
