UK-based Seedrs has distributed on X touting the success of the Female Invest securities offering.
Seedrs tallies the following metrics for the offering:
- The fastest to reach $1m in funding, in just under 4 minutes
- 1597 female investors
- Fastest securities offering to 1000 investors in under 11 minutes
- 13 minutes to fully fund the offering
- Largest pre-registration at 13,168
- 87.5% female investors
Female Invest is a mission-driven platform for female investors. The company states that in the past four years, more than 66,000 women across 125 countries have signed up for its platform.
The Copenhagen-based company states that it does not need more money as it has already raised institutional capital. The kicker to invest is that you must first join the company’s community.
The offering is closed to members only but Female Invest states that they offered a limited amount of shares.
Data has shown that investment crowdfunding has cracked the door open further for underrepresented communities. Online securities offerings supporting women and minority founders tend to do better than traditional venture capital. The early successes will only gain – if policymakers work to empower platforms and entrepreneurs further.
