bettervest GmbH, a mission-driven online capital formation platform, is raising money on Crowdcube.
Based in Germany, bettervest focuses on funding projects in the sustainability sector. According to the offering page, bettervest is looking to raise €200,000 at a pre-money valuation of €6 million. To date, bettervest is almost at its target as 104 investors have committed over €188,000. The issuer notes that €86,000 of the funds represent funds raised by the company before the campaign and on the same terms as those offered to investors on Crowdcube.
bettervest claims to be the “world’s first” funding platform for energy efficiency projects.
Launched in 2012, bettervest listed its first security offering in 2013. Since its inception, bettervest reports having funded 129 sustainability projects.
The company reports profitability but an FAQ indicates that its €6 million valuation represents a 60X of its current profit.
bettervest shares that it generates its revenue via a fee of 10 % of the funds raised and an annual fee of 1 %.
