For years, OurCrowd has consistently ranked as a top venture capital fund in Israel. In a recent report issued by KPMG, OurCrowd was once again highlighted as the most active large VC in Israel during the first half of 2024.
OurCrowd is an online investment platform that provides funding to early-stage private firms. Smaller (accredited) investors may participate in the securities offerings alongside large institutions and VCs.
According to the KPMG report, OurCrowd funded 16 deals in 2024, followed by Fusion VC Fund (a micro VC), which funded 11 deals for the year. Capital managed is pegged at $2.42 billion.
VC investing peaked in Israel in 2021. The one two punch of the global economic decline followed by the horrible invasion by Hamas and ensuing war has slowed the sector. The report notes that the Israel Innovation Authority has launched multiple programs ti ubcrease activity to support the vital innovation ecosystem, including
aimed to increase available liquidity into the market. Most a Start-up Fund, which provices non-dilutive capital and the YOZMA 2.0 Fund, designed to incentivize Israeli institutional investors to fund VC funds that support Israeli tech firms. OurCrowd launched an Israel Resilence Fund to help support firms triggered by the Hamas attack.
OurCrowd reports having invested in more than 460 private firms from around the world boasting investors from 195 different countries. Over 20 firms provided exits for investors.
