Fintech Platform Sarwa Launches Options Trading in the Middle East

Sarwa reportedly offers options trading to their customers, becoming one of the “first” fintech platforms in the Middle East to do so.

Sarwa and Alpaca’s partnership has grown since 2021, and they are pleased to acknowledge Sarwa’s efforts and progress on achieving this first-to-market milestone.

Sarwa Digital Wealth (Capital) Limited is one of the UAE’s investment platforms for both retail and institutional investors.

Their mission is helping “everyone affordably put their money to work” while ensuring investing experience itself is simple to use.

In addition to options, Sarwa offers stocks, ETFs and crypto investing as well as a money market fund powered by their platform.

Options are described as a “versatile asset” for strategic hedging, speculation and income generation with strong retail demand.

By offering this asset class, Sarwa provides UAE investors the tools needed to effectively manage risk, diversify investments and quickly respond to market opportunities.

Using Alpaca’s Broker API, Sarwa offers Level 1 and 2 options for investors in a “fully disclosed” partner relationship. Their account approval process is automated with “visibility into each customer via SSE events.”

In addition to this, their front end integrates real-time market data coupled with an intuitive UX – so both seasoned and novice investors are able to effectively “make informed trading decisions.”

For three years, Sarwa has worked cooperatively with Alpaca in order to offer their customers access to US equities and crypto– supporting their mission for affordable investing.

During that time, Sarwa has reportedly experienced steady growth.

Recently, they have surpassed over $3 billion in overall trading volume with no signs of slowing. And Sarwa’s commitment to shifting “customer needs” is apparent– offering options trading is the ideal example of this.

As they continue to further expand their line of products and services, we’re  honored to be part of their journey as they look to grow operations beyond the United Arab Emirates (UAE).

As covered, Alpaca is a developer-first API brokerage platform that’s raised over $150m in funding.

Alpaca reportedly offers stock trading, real-time market data, as well as end-to-end brokerage infrastructure via modern APIs.

Alpaca says that it is backed by various investors in the industry, which is said to include the following: Portage Ventures, Spark Capital, Tribe Capital, Social Leverage, Horizons Ventures, Unbound, SBI Group, Eldridge, Positive Sum, Elefund, and Y Combinator.

Securities brokerage services are reportedly being provided by Alpaca Securities LLC, member FINRA/SIPC, a “wholly-owned” subsidiary of AlpacaDB, Inc. Technology and services are offered by AlpacaDB, Inc.
