Regtech: DEKRA Verifies Entrust’s Onfido ID Verification Solution Meets Sepblac Requirements for Video Identification in Spain

Regulated businesses across Spain that need a Sepblac-compliant identity verification procedure for KYC can achieve this with an “easy” to integrate solution offering a streamlined user experience. Entrust, a firm focused on “trusted” payments, identities, and data security, today announced its Onfido Real Identity Platform has been evaluated by DEKRA, an organisation in testing, inspection and certification services.

As noted in a blog post by Regtech firm Onfido, this assessment verifies that the Onfido solution complies with the requirements set by Sepblac (the Executive Service of the Commission for the Prevention of Money Laundering and Monetary Offenses), ensuring a security standard equivalent to “in-person identity verification for remote onboarding.”

The Onfido ETSI Certified IDV solution forms the foundation of this solution, conforming with European technical standards, “including ETSI TS 119 461 and EN 319 401, as well as the European Union’s eIDAS regulation.”

By leveraging Onfido Studio, the solution has been tailored to meet Spanish KYC requirements, as it has been for France and Romania.

In an era where industries vulnerable to money laundering and fraud face rapidly evolving regulations, across KYC and AML requirements, conformity with European Union regulations such “as eIDAS, AMLD, and identity proofing and cybersecurity standards from ETSI and CEN are now critical.”

The Onfido Compliance Suite, part of the Real Identity Platform, offers compliant and complete IDV solutions that are easy to adopt and “maximise approved rates.”

It enables businesses to orchestrate seamless and secure document, biometric and electronic verifications, with “trusted data sources, and fraud detection signals to verify legitimate users while mitigating fraud.”

The Onfido Real Identity Platform reportedly meets compliance requirements and technical standards across the EU, UK and the US.

The platform verifies 2,500+ types of identity documents from over 195 countries, making it a “trusted” solution for businesses looking to significantly streamline identity verification processes.

Entrust is a key player focused on identity-centric security solutions, providing an integrated platform of scalable, AI-enabled security offerings.

They enable organizations to safeguard operations, evolve without compromise, and protect interactions in an “interconnected” world – so they can “transform their businesses with confidence.”

Entrust says that it supports customers in 150+ countries and works with a global partner network.

DEKRA was founded in 1925 to ensure road safety via vehicle inspection.

With a wider scope now, DEKRA is the independent non-listed organization focused on the testing, inspection, and certification sector.

As a provider of comprehensive services and solutions, they help their customers improve their “safety, security, and sustainability outcomes.”

Last year, DEKRA reportedly generated revenue of EUR 4.1 billion.

The company employs about 49,000 professionals who offer qualified and independent services in around 60 countries on five different continents.
