Binance has launched a new privacy center, which reportedly features easy data download for enhanced user privacy.
To empower users with a greater degree of control over their personal data, Binance has launched a feature that consolidates various tools for exercising privacy rights in one location and allows users to “directly download a copy of their personal data.”
With a few steps ensuring the security of their personal data, users can now access their “whole transaction history, profile review, and other critical account information.”
Consistent with Binance’s core values, they designed their privacy program with users’ “best interest at heart.”
At Binance, they claim to prioritize the privacy and security of their users’ data, maintaining “rigorous” standards in line with key privacy laws “across the globe and established best practices.”
Binance further noted that their privacy program is designed not only to adhere to the “strictest levels” of data protection but also to give users a greater “control over their personal data,” empowering them to manage their information “transparently and securely.”
The digital assets firm also mentioned that thanks to the continuous improvement and adherence to the latest advancements in the privacy field, data “protection” remains at the forefront of Binance, they are ensuring they “respect and uphold users’ rights.”
In line with this commitment, they are officially introducing their Privacy Center, a new feature that consolidates various tools for exercising privacy rights in one location and allows users to access their personal account data automatically and directly from the Binance platform.
Binance said that they are please to stated that they are reportedly among the first in the crypto industry to enable “direct personal account data download, simplifying the exercise of our users’ privacy rights.”
Previously, users needed to contact their Data Protection Office (DPO) via email or webform to obtain “a copy of their data.”
While the Binance DPO team remains available through both channels for support, users now have the ability to download their “personal data directly from the Binance app.”
This feature enables users to obtain their information on-demand, facilitating greater access and “control over their personal data.”
In a few clicks, users can access their all-time personal data stored by Binance, including “basic profile information, withdrawal, deposit, and trading history.”
Additionally, users can generate a report every seven days, “ensuring they always have up-to-date information at their fingertips.”
It’s worth noting that this is not really some unique or breaking feature considering that much smaller and more basic platforms like Paxful have already been providing similar features. It’s also not quite clear just how this enables greater privacy since customers simply have access to their own data and not too much beyond that.
