Revolut UK CEO has posted that it has been approved for stock trading as the UK Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) has approved a trading license.
Francesca Carlesi stated on a blog post:
“Today [marks] another important milestone here at Revolut, as our UK trading business has just been granted our very own UK trading license by the FCA ! An important step to be able to offer all our customers good products to manage their wealth and to make good investment decisions. A huge congratulations Yana S.and the whole team for this important step. Well done Revolut Dream team.”
Yana S, CEO of Revolut Trading added that the license will enable its650,000 existing UK trading customers new products and features.
“We stay committed to helping our customers of all wealth levels feel confident in making good investment decisions and understand the associated risks.”
Revolut will now be able to operate as an investment firm. The FCA registry notes the approval was posted today, allowing the company to offer retail securities trading services. It has been reported that trading in the UK will kick off in 2025.
Revolut also offers trading in crypto but this is a separate service.
Revolut is a digital bank that serves individuals and businesses. It reports more than 45 million users, with one million joining the platform every month in 2023. Revolut operates in 38 different countries and reported $2.2 billion in revenue in 2023. The company has reported profitability for the past three years.
