Swiss Digital Asset Firm Taurus Expands into Turkey

Digital asset platform Taurus SA is expanding into Turkey, according to a note distributed by the firm. Taurus shares that the new office is due to the new regulatory framework for digital assets. The expansion is also expected build upon a presence in Dubai and to create a strategic corridor that connects European, Middle Eastern, and Asian markets.

Bashir Kazour, Managing Director at Taurus, shares they already have three banking customers in Turkey and now they will be able to better serve their expanding client base.

Taurus states that it has already established relationships in the Turkish market, including a partnership with Turkey’s first neobank, Misyon Bank, for asset custody and tokenization services.

“Taurus’ digital asset infrastructure provides the robust foundation we were seeking as we roll out Türkiye’s first tokenization-competent, cryptocurrency trading platform, so that tokenized assets across the region and Türkiye are kept secure within Turkish borders.” said Dr. Önder Halisdemir, CEO at Misyon Bank. “Their presence in Istanbul shows their commitment to the Turkish market and will enhance our ability to serve our digital asset clients.”

Taurus in Turkey will offer custody and tokenization services which are tailored to meet local regulatory requirements and market needs.

Curently, Taurus claims that its digital asset infrastructure provider for banks and corporates, hold more than 50% market share in Switzerland.
