Anchorage Digital Expands Custody for Tokens on Aptos Blockchain Including BUIDL, Ondo USDY

Anchorage Digital, the custodian for crypto innovators and investors, is announcing expanded support for tokens on the Aptos blockchain, including custody of BlackRock USD Institutional Digital Liquidity Fund (BUIDL) and the Ondo US Dollar Yield Token (USDY), the largest tokenized treasury assets by total value locked (TVL).

This development builds upon Anchorage Digital’s role as an institutional custodian for Aptos since they launched custody support at its mainnet launch, “solidifying their commitment to providing services for emerging blockchain ecosystems.”

The addition of token support on Aptos marks a key step in Anchorage Digital’s efforts to offer “diverse crypto assets to its institutional clients.”

This expansion enables Anchorage Digital clients to custody reward-generating assets such as BUIDL and USDY on Aptos, “fostering participation in the Aptos ecosystem.”

Nathan McCauley, Co-Founder and CEO of Anchorage Digital, said that by expanding support to include new tokens on Aptos, they are extending the security envelope to this blockchain.

Carlos Domingo, co-founder and CEO of Securitize, said that Anchorage is leading the way in providing institutions access to blockchain ecosystems.

As noted in the update, Aptos Foundation is dedicated to “supporting the development of the Aptos protocol, decentralized network and ecosystem and driving engagement with the Aptos ecosystem.”

By unlocking a blockchain with usability, Aptos Foundation “aims to bring the benefits of decentralization to the masses.”

Aptos is a Layer 1 blockchain.

Aptos’ technology and programming language, Move, are designed to “evolve, improve performance and strengthen user safeguards.”

Anchorage Digital is a crypto platform that enables institutions to participate in digital assets. Anchorage Digital Bank N.A. is the only federally chartered crypto bank in the U.S.
