When he is not running X, Tesla, or SpaceX, advising the President, or playing video games, Elon Musk is on X sharing information and his opinion on many global topics. Today, like every day, Musk is Xing, but this time, he is seeking developers to help build his “Everything App,” asking aspiring engineers to email the company at code@x.com.
After acquiring Twitter, now X, Musk turned the social media platform around, eliminating the blatant censorship and embracing free speech. X is now arguably the top social media platform in the world when it comes to news and opinion.
But Musk does not want to stop there. His Everything App can be expected to become where you manage a plethora of daily needs, and most certainly, this will include financial services.
X previously announced that it would launch peer-to-peer payments in 2024, fulfilling a known goal of the platform. That did not happen. Perhaps 2025 is the year.
Other financial services could include purchases, a digital wallet, savings, e-commerce, and even investing options. Musk is a big crypto advocate, and it would be no surprise if he offered both digital and traditional asset investing.
While the Biden Administration was openly hostile to Musk, this will all change next week when President Trump takes over. Musk’s status as “First Buddy” should help clear the path for innovation from politically motivated attacks seeking to stymie his ambitions.
If you’re a hardcore software engineer and want to build the everything app, please join us by sending your best work to code@x.com.
We don’t care where you went to school or even whether you went to school or what “big name” company you worked at.
Just show us your code.
