The Small Business & Entrepreneurship Council (SBE Council) says the next four years could be a “Golden Age” for entrepreneurs.
While the Biden Administration was not exactly anti-entrepreneur, their policies fell far short of what could have been accomplished, and some policies were actively anti-innovation and anti-business.
The SBE Council advocates on behalf of entrepreneurs and innovators in a bipartisan manner. Still, in recent years, the group has highlighted the anti-business (especially small business) policies pursued by the Biden administration.
SBE Council president & CEO Karen Kerrigan issued the statement on the day of the Presidential inauguration, stating President Donald Trump and Vice President JD Vance could fuel entrepreneurial growth if they pursue policies that “provide certainty and boost capital availability and access to markets, and lift government restrictions that have impeded launching and growing a business.”
Kerrigan said that the past four years have been challenging for smaller firms due to the lack of support from the Biden administration.
“Small business owners welcome President Trump’s agenda of permanent tax relief, common-sense regulation, and innovative leadership. Entrepreneurs are the key source of innovation, job creation, and economic opportunity and growth in local communities. Policies that unleash their innovative capacity and risk-taking are critical to U.S. economic leadership and our nation’s security. We congratulate President Trump and Vice President Vance on this historical day and look forward to working with the new Administration on advancing policies that create historical growth and opportunity driven by our nation’s entrepreneurs and small business owners.”
The SBE Council has outlined an ambitious roster of policies and legislation they believe will support risk taking entrepreneurs.
The SBE Council has broken down the agenda into Part I and Part II. Part I is available here.
