VC firm General Catalyst has launched a new registered investment advisor, GC Wealth, according to a blog post.
General Catalyst currently reports over $32 billion in assets under management and 800+ portfolio firms. A diversified investor, General Catalyst invests in Fintech, AI, and more.
GC Wealth is described as a “next-generation wealth management platform built for transformational individuals, families, and organizations.” The new platform is managed by Dave Breslin, who spent 17 years at Merrill prior to joining General Catalyst.
The post describing GC Wealth claims to transcend the traditional boundaries of venture capital. The wealth management solution is said to “serve and empower founders, entrepreneurs, and high-potential individuals within GC’s Famiglia and beyond.”
GC Famiglia is the aspect of the group that aims to support the development of their founders.
Mark Swan, co-founder & CEO of Nevis, is quoted as explaining GC Wealth as “a modern, innovative, and tech-forward RIA, with a strong connection to the VC ecosystem.”
So GC Wealth is an investment platform that provides access to private securities, which is also described as pursuing wealth preservation, liquidity, and proximity to deals. Other than that, few details are available beyond the client relationship document available here.
