Emergence Capital is reporting that it has just raised $1 billion for a new fund that will support early-stage B2B firms. Fund VII is said to arrive at a key inflection point as artificial intelligence is poised to alter the way everyone does work.
Emergence states that it “believes AI will ultimately accelerate how businesses are built, unlock new value from data, enable richer experiences across mediums (text, voice, video), and fuse AI and human expertise to deliver faster, better, and cheaper outcomes.” Emergence says that 1 in 5 of early stage investments have topped $1 billion in valuation.
In total, Emergence claims to have generated over $8 billion in realized returns on less than $2 billion. More than one-in-ten of its early-stage investments have gone public.
Emergence touts it past performance mentioning names of portfolio firms like Zoom, Salesforce, Bill.com, Bolt and more.
